2nd Lt Fredrick J Bitter, [ 431 W. Wayne St., Butler, PA ], P-38 Lightning pilot of the 14th Fighter Group, 5th Fighter Wing, 12th Air Force, has been awarded the air medal and 7 oak leaf clusters. He has completed his allotted fifty combat missions over enemy territory and is a member of the first American fighter group to see action in the North African invasion.
